JEFFREY OSBORNE - Soweto (1986)

A&M Records, AMY334
Producer: Jeffrey Osborne

Days before the tenth anniversary of June 16 1976, a State of Emergency was called. It was also the year that this American R&B singer urged the world to “Send a message to Soweto, send a message now!”:

“Today the school was hit by teargas,
And I still hear the sound of breaking glass.
The children...How can this go on?
Soweto – this is still my home.
Send a message to your brothers in Soweto:
You are not alone!
"

From the album Emotional. B-Side 'Plane Love' comes from the 1984 album Stay With Me Tonight, produced by George Duke.
