A former bandmate of Lawrence 'Sackey' Goreoang in 70s soul act the Teenage Lovers, Rabanye inspired a generation of keyboardists, releasing a string of popular solo instrumental albums before tragically going deaf. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2006 Samas. He earned a law degree and his paintings were displayed at the Methodist church in his hometown of Ikagang in Potchefstroom, Free State.
